Cersie Lannister - AU where like Brienne she is encouraged to learn swordfighting and knightly skills. She shares Jaime’s innate talent and becomes a kick ass Lady Knight, but the scary kind… cos she’s still Cersie and she’s still a bit twisted. Only now she’s got a sword… and that’s terrifying!

It also would make Brienne less effective as a character. Part of what makes Brienne herself is that she has taken it upon herself to just do what she's built for. She's a tank and that's what she does. But you also see her vunerability because you can see that secretly she envies the ladies like Cersie for having their elegance and prettyness, when Cersie also envies Brienne for just doing what she wanted. It makes the story more interesting.
But yes if Cersie had a sword their might not have been a book in the first place. Jaime joined the Kingsgaurd because Cersie was "supposed to" marry Rheagar, thereby keeping them close together as twins and well doing their incesty thing. If Cersie were a knight herself, we're presuming marriage isn't the only route to power and Cersie might have been more content being Lady of Casterly Rock after her Father, and instead kept Jaime by her side, thereby who kills King Aeris? if anyone? Does he succeed in burning Kings Landing to the ground? Hell is Lyanna also a Knight properly, and does she even run away with Rheager in the first place?!
It wouldn't be s the story we all know and love if women were permitted to fight as men do. (There are other fantasy books for that like Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb) But tbh this is just a fun AU XD
All the META! Congrats if you made it to the end of my rambling.
Thanks for the critique. The picture was a quick warm up doodle which I did forget to mention in the comments so some of the issues are there through speed, but all your points are totally valid Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Tyrion would have probably not lived as long had she been brought up like this
yeah it wouldn't be Game of Thrones as we know it if ladies were acceptable Knights, but that's half the fun XD
Like with Lyanna you feel it's a bit like Arya and rebellion but she could have become a powerful figure as Lady Baratheon if she played her cards right. But Brienne's temperament and such and her size and "ugliness" would n ever lead to a good marriage for her, and she found she was good at playing Knight and she had the power and strength to back it up.
I think she would have embraced lady knights but wouldn't have the same opportunities as the ladies from higher houses if that was the case. It's like Jaime Lannister has better opportunities than someone like Ser Donderly or whatever his name is who is the drunk who 'rescues' Sansa.
I also adore the flowing lines of the red cloak- beautiful!
