Cersie Lannister AU by FionaCreates Cersie Lannister AU by FionaCreates

Cersie Lannister - AU where like Brienne she is encouraged to learn swordfighting and knightly skills. She shares Jaime’s innate talent and becomes a kick ass Lady Knight, but the scary kind… cos she’s still Cersie and she’s still a bit twisted. Only now she’s got a sword… and that’s terrifying!

Personally I think the main reason why the author refrained from giving Cersei a sword is because if she did she'd be so overpowered and take control of the throne so fast that there'd only be one book

Oh there's lots of logical reason why Cersie doesn't have a sword. One of which is that to give Cersie a sword and make her a knight, would make a lot of waves. It would say "It's ok for women to fight" ergo Arya isn't such an anomaly and more girls would want to become knights too. Like Sansa. She idolises Cersie. Could you imagine that AU?! XD

It also would make Brienne less effective as a character. Part of what makes Brienne herself is that she has taken it upon herself to just do what she's built for. She's a tank and that's what she does. But you also see her vunerability because you can see that secretly she envies the ladies like Cersie for having their elegance and prettyness, when Cersie also envies Brienne for just doing what she wanted. It makes the story more interesting.

But yes if Cersie had a sword their might not have been a book in the first place. Jaime joined the Kingsgaurd because Cersie was "supposed to" marry Rheagar, thereby keeping them close together as twins and well doing their incesty thing. If Cersie were a knight herself, we're presuming marriage isn't the only route to power and Cersie might have been more content being Lady of Casterly Rock after her Father, and instead kept Jaime by her side, thereby who kills King Aeris? if anyone? Does he succeed in burning Kings Landing to the ground? Hell is Lyanna also a Knight properly, and does she even run away with Rheager in the first place?!

It wouldn't be s the story we all know and love if women were permitted to fight as men do. (There are other fantasy books for that like Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb) But tbh this is just a fun AU XD

All the META! Congrats if you made it to the end of my rambling.

Now with 50% less pent up anger!

Here's my critique:

Nice simplification, and excellent color choice. The highlight above her eye distracted me. Eventually I realized it was supposed to indicate her round eye, but it makes her look like she has one light spot of skin above her eye.

On her hands, the forearm of her left hand looks short, and on her left, the sword isn't quite in her hand's grip. The trick I use is to draw a straight line through the inside of the knuckles, and that gives you an idea of where the object would go. Even stylized, the feet are quite tiny. Some armor I've seen actually makes the feet look bigger since they come to that point well past the toes.

I'm not sure if less pent up anger is a good thing or a bad thing XD

Thanks for the critique. The picture was a quick warm up doodle which I did forget to mention in the comments so some of the issues are there through speed, but all your points are totally valid :D Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I think she actually would have loved that! Isn't it mentioned in the books that she was jealous of what Jaime was taught and bored with what she was taught. A bit like Arya maybe :giggle:
Tyrion would have probably not lived as long had she been brought up like this

Yes, that's where I got the idea. What if she had been allowed to fight instead of discouraged. She's always been more dominant than Jaime, but because of the way their society works Jaime was the one seen to be more powerful. If the dynamic was gone and Cersie was allowed to be dominant in all ways I think it could be terrifying.

It also would change quite a lot of the rest of the story. She would have most likely not been married to Robert, so someone else would have been his queen. There aren't really many more options around her age, maybe Lysa Arryn (oh dear…) … basically everything would have been different :XD:
